حراس القنصلية ببنغازي يروون تفاصيل الهجوم

تناولت صحيفة لوس أنجلوس الأمريكية الهجوم الذي استهدف القنصلية الأمريكية في بنغازي الليبية في سبتمبر الماضي، وأسفر عن مقتل السفير الأمريكي وثلاثة أمريكيين آخرين، وقالت إن الحراس الليبيين بدأوا يفصحون عن تفاصيل بشأن الفوضى التي صاحبت الهجوم.
وأنكر إثنان من الحراس الليبيين أنهما مدا يد العون للمهاجمين أو أنهما سهلا لهم عملية الهجوم، وقالا إنهما دافعا عن القنصلية الأمريكية المحاصرة وردا على المهاجمين، ولكنهما اضطرا للفرار بعد أن وجدا نفسيهما أمام عدد كبير من المهاجمين.

وقال الحارسان إنهما استمعا إلى أصوات الرصاص وشاهدا ألسنة اللهب تتصاعد في مبنى القنصلية أثناء تعرضها للهجوم، وشاهدا عدة مسلحين ملتحين يحملون رشاشات وعليهم أحزمة قنابل، وإن أحد الحارسين الليبيين ظن أن نهايتهما قد دنت.

وأضافت لوس أنجلوس أن الحارسين يعتبران من قدامى المحاربين الذين اشتركوا في الثورة ضد العقيد الليبي الراحل معمر القذافي، وتلقيا تدريبات مكثفة خلال السنة الماضية على أيدي قوات أمريكية خاصة، وذلك من أجل تولي مهام حماية البعثة الأمريكية في مدينة بنغازي.

وكان يحرس القنصلية الأمريكية في بنغازي حوالي خمسة مسلحين أمريكيين وخمسة مسلحين مدنيين ليبيين، ولكن الحارسان يقولان إن الحراس لم يكونوا مهيئين لمواجهة هجوم كبير كالذي استهدف القنصلية على حين غرة، فهم تدربوا على مواجهة عدد من المهاجمين عددهم ما بين عشرة و15 مهاجما.

وأوضحت الصحيفة أن حراس القنصلية جميعهم فوجئوا بالعشرات من المهاجمين المدربين والمنظمين والمحترفين، وأنه من سوء الطالع لم يكن داخل القنصلية سوى حارسيْن مسلحيْن عند تعرضها للهجوم في ليلة الحادي عشر من سبتمبر 2012، وكان يفترض ألا يقل عدد الحراس عن أربعة، مما جعل الأحوال في مبنى القنصلية تزداد سوءا.

ويقول الحارسان الليبيان المسلحان إنهما حاولا الدفاع عن القنصلية عند بداية الهجوم، ولكنهما فوجئا بأحد المهاجمين يلقي قنبلة عند المدخل، مما جعل الحارسان يلوذان بالفرار إلى سطح المبنى دون أن يتمكنا من حمل أجهزة الاتصال الخاصة بهما، ودون أن يكونا يمتلكان من الذخيرة سوى مخزن واحد لكليهما، وأما الحراس الأمريكيون فلم يوجد أي منهم في المكان.

وتضيف لوس أنجلوس تايمز أن الهجوم تواصل وأسفر عن مقتل السفير الأمريكي كريستوفر ستيفنز وأمريكي آخر داخل القنصلية، وأنه تبع ذلك مقتل أمريكييْن آخريْن في مواقع أخرى من المبنى في وقت لاحق.

ويقول الحارسان الليبيان إنهما خرجا سالميْن من الهجوم لأنهما كانا مستلقييْن بصمت على سطح المبنى حوالي ساعة من الزمان، وإنهما كانا يشعران بالخوف ولا يستطيعان مواصلة مواجهة المهاجمين، ويضيف أحد الحارسين أنهما لم يكونا يتوقعان هجوما كبيرا كالذي حصل، ولم يكونا مستعدين لمواجهته.

ويخضع الحارسان الليبيان -اللذان أفصحا عن هذه المعلومات للمرة الأولى- للاستجواب من جانب مكتب التحقيقات الفدرالي، وسط تساؤلات عن احتمال وجود اختراقات أمنية لحراس القنصلية بشكل عام.
