كلينتون: على أمريكا احتضان الربيع العربي رغم المخاطر

قالت وزيرة الخارجية الأمريكية هيلاري كلينتون الجمعة إنه يتعين على الولايات المتحدة أن تنظر إلى أبعد من العنف والتطرف اللذين اندلعا بعد ثورات الربيع العربي وأن تزيد الدعم للديمقراطيات الناشئة في المنطقة من أجل صيلغة الأمن على المدى البعيد.
وقالت كلينتون إن واشنطن لا يمكن أن تردعها "أعمال عنف ترتكبها عدد صغير من المتطرفين".

وتسعى وزيرة الخارجية إلى تعزيز سياسة إدارة أوباما تجاه الشرق الأوسط بعد موجة من العنف المعادي للولايات المتحدة وهجوم قاتل في الشهر الماضي على البعثة الأمريكية في بنغازي بليبيا.

وقالت في كلمة أمام مركز الدراسات الاستراتيجيةوالدولية وهو مركز أبحاث في واشنطن "ندرك أن الولايات المتحدة ليست ملزمة بإدارة هذه التحولات ومن المؤكد أنه لسنا نحن المعنيين بكسبها أو خسارتها.

"ولكن يتعين علينا أن نساند أولئك الذين يعملون كل يوم على تقوية المؤسسات الديمقراطية ويدافعون عن الحقوق العالمية ويسعون من أجل نمو اقتصادي شامل. ذلك سيؤدي إلى شركاء أكثر قدرة وأمنا أكثر دواما على المدي البعيد".

وأصبح الاضطراب في الشرق الأوسط وقودا لحملة انتخابات الرئاسة الأمريكية حيث يسعى المرشح الجمهوري ميت رومني إلى تصوير الرئيس باراك أوباما باعتباره رئيسا غير فعال ترك الولايات المتحدة معرضة للمخاطر في وقت أزمة دولية.

وركز رومني والجمهوريون على هجوم بنغازي الذي وقع يوم 11 سبتبمر أيلول وقتل فيه السفير الأمريكي كريس ستيفنس وثلاثة أمريكيين آخرين ويتهمون إدارة أوباما بالتقصير الأمني والمخابراتي فيما يصفه المسؤولون الآن بأنه هجوم إرهابي.

واشارت كلينتون إلى أن تحقيقا رسميا يجرى بشأن حادث بنغازي وتعهدت بأن الولايات المتحدة ستتعقب المسؤولين عن الهجوم.

ولكنها أكدت أنه يتعين على الدبلوماسيين الأمريكيين التعامل مع عالم يكتنفه الغموض وخطر لتعزيز المصالح الأمريكية وحمايتها. وقالت "لن نستطيع أبدا منع كل أعمال العنف أو الإرهاب أو تحقيق الأمن الكامل. لا يستطيع ناسنا أن يعيشوا في ثكنات ويؤدوا أعمالهم".
