في الوقت الذي يرفض فيه رؤساء الدول الكشف عن رواتبهم ويطالبون بزيادتها رغم التسهيلات التي يتلقونها إلى جانب دخلهم الشهري، يتبرع رئيس الأوروغواي خوسيه موخيكا (josé mujica) بـ 90 في المائة من راتبه لصالح الأعمال الخيرية، ليحصل بذلك على اعتراف دولي وعلى لقب "أفقر رئيس في العالم وأكثرهم سخاءً".

يعيش خوسيه موخيكا (76 عاماً) رئيس الأوروجواي منذ بداية شهر مارس 2010، في بيت ريفي مع زوجته لوسيا توبولانسكي، عضو في مجلس الشيوخ، التي تتبرع هي الأخرى بجزء من راتبها.

وفي مقابلة أجرتها صحيفة "إل موندو" مؤخراً، قال موخيكا أن أغلى شيء يملكه داخل سيارته "الفولكس واجن بيتل " تقدر قيمته بـ 1945 دولار أميركي، وأضاف أنه يتلقى راتباً شهريا قدره 12 ألف و500 دولار ولكنه يحتفظ لنفسه بمبلغ 1250 دولار فقط ويتبرع بالباقي للجمعيات الخيرية.

ويقول الرئيس أن المبلغ الذي يتركه لنفسه يكفيه ليعيش حياة كريمة بل ويجب أن يكفيه خاصة وأن العديد من أفراد شعبه يعيشون بأقل من ذلك بكثير.

وذكر موقع "ياهو نيوز" أن الرئيس لا يملك حسابات مصرفية ولا ديون، ويستمتع بوقته برفقة كلبته "مانويلا".

وكل ما يتمناه الرئيس عند انقضاء فترة حكمه هو العيش بسلام في مزرعته، برفقة زوجته.

ويشير مؤشر منظمة الشفافية العالمية أن معدل الفساد في الأوروجواي انخفض بشكل كبير خلال ولاية موخيكا، إذ يحتل هذا البلد الواقع في أميركا الجنوبية المرتبة الثانية في قائمة الدول الأقل فسادا في أميركا اللاتينية.

ويقول الرئيس أن "أهم أمر في القيادة المثالية هو أن تبادر بالقيام بالفعل حتى يسهل على الآخرين تطبيقه."
