قاعدة أمريكية لطائرات بدون طيار في السعودية
أفادت وسائل إعلام أمريكية بأن وكالة المخابرات المركزية الأمريكية كانت تدير عمليات من قاعدة سرية للطائرات بدون طيار في السعودية خلال العامين الماضيين.

وكانت القاعدة السرية قد أنشئت من أجل ملاحقة أعضاء في تنظيم القاعدة في الجزيرة العربية الذي يتخذ من اليمن قاعدة له.
وقد أستُخدمت المنشأة في هجمات لطائرات بدون طيار في سبتمبر 2011 لقتل أنور العولقي، وهو أمريكي المولد كان يتولى – كما قيل - قيادة العمليات الخارجية لتنظيم القاعدة في الجزيرة العربية.
ومن الجدير بالذكر أن وسائل الإعلام الأمريكية كانت على علم بوجود القاعدة السرية، لكنها لم تذكرها في تقاريرها.
وكانت وزارة الدفاع الأمريكية قد سحبت تقريبا جميع قواتها العسكرية من السعودية في عام 2003، حيث كان يوجد ما بين 5000 إلى 10.000 جندي في المملكة في أعقاب حرب الخليج عام 1991.
ولم يتبق هناك رسميا إلا أفراد من البعثة الأمريكية للتدريب العسكري.
وقد أنشئت قاعدة الطائرات بدون طيار في ديسمبر، عقب هجوم بصواريخ كروز في اليمن .
وكان ذلك أول هجوم تأمر به إدارة الرئيس أوباما، وقد كانت نهايته مأساوية حين قتل فيه عشرات المدنيين، كان من بينهم نساء وأطفال.
وقال مسؤولون أمريكيون للصحيفة إن أول مرة تستخدم فيها وكالة المخابرات المركزية الأمريكية المنشأة السرية كان في قتل العولقي.
ومنذ ذلك الحين فُوضت الوكالة بمهمة إصطياد وقتل "أهداف ذات قيمة رفيعة" في اليمن، وهم قادة تنظيم القاعدة في الجزيرة العربية، الذين قال محامو الحكومة إنهم يمثلون تهديدا مباشرا على الولايات المتحدة.
وتستطيع الطائرات بدون طيار تنفيذ هجماتها بدون الحصول على تصريح من الحكومة اليمنية.
وقالت صحيفة واشنطن بوست إن مستشار الرئيس الأمريكي أوباما لمكافحة الإرهاب، جون برينان، وهو مدير سابق لمكتب وكالة المخابرات الأمريكية في السعودية أدى دورا بارزا في المفاوضات مع حكومة الرياض بشأن إنشاء القاعدة.
وكان كثير من المسلمين –ومن بينهم زعيم تنظيم القاعدة، أسامة بن لادن- يرون في نشر قوات أمريكية في السعودية، حيث توجد الأماكن المقدسة، خيانة لهم.
وكان ذلك أحد الأسباب التي إعتاد بن لادن على ذكرها لتبرير العنف ضد الولايات المتحدة وحلفائها.
