واحد من احسن جنرالات الهجوم في البطولة الجزائرية و الفرنسية في نهاية الثمانينات و سنوات التسعينات وبداية الفية الثانية
حمل في العديد من المناسبات الالوان الوطنية اهمها المشاركة في كاسي افريقيا للامم 1996بجنوب افريقيا و 2000 بغانا و نيجيريا

بدا عبد الحفيظ تاسفاوت مسيرته الكروية في مدرسة فريق جمعية وهران لكرة القدم ,اين ابان على مؤهلاته في الفئات الصغرى حتى فئة الاكابر,,ليخطفه فريق مولودية وهران و عمره 21 سنة فقط حيث لعب له حتى سنة 1995 ,في تلك الفترة كانت البداية الحقيقية لعبد الحفيظ تاسفاوت مع كرة القدم حيث اظهر امكانيته الفنية و الهجومية مما جعله يصبح موهبة مستقبلية للكرة الجزائرية و يصبح المهاجم رقم 1 في الفريق الوطني بعد نهاية جيل رابح ماجر و لاخضر بلومي حيث حاز مع مولودية وهران بطولتين على التوالي سنوات 1992 و 1993 و هداف للبطولة الوطنية,لتكون وجهته بعد ذلك اوروبا وبالضبظ نادي اوكسير الفرنسي تحت قيادة المدرب الفرنسي قي رو فاصبح جوكير للفريق,حيث لعب له من 1995 حتى سنة 1997 فحصل على لقب و كاس فرنسا سنة 1996 ,لينتقل بعد ذلك لنادي قانقامب لعب معه حتى سنة 2002 حيث ادى معه 5 مواسم رائعة فاصبح اسمه محفور في اذهان انصار النادي بسبب اهدافه الرائعة
*لعب مع مولودية وهران و ناديي اوكسير وقانقامب الفرنسيان اغلب فترات مشواره الكروي حيث حاز مع مولودية وهران بطولتين وطنيتين سنوات 1992 و1993 ,اما مع نادي اوكسير فنال بطولة فرنسا و كاس فرنسا سنة 1996 ,لينتقل لنادي السد القطري موسم 2002 - 2003 و ينهي مشواره الكروي.
*مع الفريق الوطني لعب من سنة 1992 حتى عام 2002 ,اهمها كاسي افريقيا للامم سنة 1996 بجنوب افريقيا وسنة 2000 بغانا و نيجيريا,ويعتبر تاسفاوت هداف الفريق عبر التاريخ برصيد 35 هدف في 86 مشاركة
