تُغني شهرة الأفاعي وسمعتها عن التعريف بها بعد أن أصبحت رمزاً للشر عند شعوب كثيرة، والأسباب لا تُعد ولا تحصى بدئاً من شراستها وطريقة فتكها بأعدائها وصولاً لسميّتها وعضّتها القاتلة، لكني سأتحدث لكم اليوم عن الأفاعي من وجهة نظر مُختلفة بعض الشيء لأننا سنتحدث عن "أجمل” الأفاعي في العالم!
فهيّا بنا نشاهد أجمل 20 ثعبان في العالم:
1- ثعبان شجرة الزمرد:

يوجد هذا الثعبان في الغابات المطيرة في أمريكا الجنوبية، ويصل طوله إلى 6 أقدام (1.8 متر) ويتميز بطول أسنانه التي في المقدمة عن أي ثعبان غير سام آخر.
2- ثعبان قوس قزح البرازيلي:

يوجد هذا الثعبان في أمريكا الجنوبية ويتميز بألوانه التي تشبه ألوان الطيف!
3- الأفعى الخضراء:

يتميز هذا الثعبان بطول أنفه ولونه الأخضر الذي يمنحه القدرة على التخفي ببراعة فوق الأشجار، خاصةً أنه يعيش فوق أشجار الهند، وسريلانكا، وبنجلاديش، ومينمار، وتايلاند، وكمبوديا، وفيتنام.
ويتميز بأنه غير سام وبطئ الحركة ويقوم بفتح فمه للتهديد عندما يشعر بالخطر.
4- الثعبان الأبرص البورمي:

هو واحد من أكبر 6 ثعابين في العالم وينتمي إلى فصيلة الثعابين الهندية من النوع البورمي، ويعود منشأ هذه الثعابين الأصلي إلى الغابات المطيرة في جنوب شرق آسيا.

يبلغ طول الثعابين البورمية البرصاء إلى 5.5 متر (18 قدم) ويصل وزنها إلى 71 كيلوجرام (160 رطل) ؛ حقاً إنها ضخمة!
5- ثعبان نيلسون:

وجِد هذا الثعبان الرائع المظهر على ساحل المحيط الهادي في المكسيك. يبلغ طوله 107 سم (42 بوصة) ويوجد منه أنواع سامة وأخرى غير سامة.
6- ثعبان الحليب المكسيكي:

هكما هو واضح من اسمه يوجد ثعبان الحليب المكسيكي في المكسيك وينتشر في شمالها وشرقها، ويوجد أيضاً في بعض المناطق شماليّ أمريكا الشمالية في الولايات المتحدة وتحديداً في جنوب غرب ولاية تكساس.
7- أفعى الجرذ الحمراء:

يتميز أفعى الجرذ الحمراء بألوانه الجميلة ويُعرف في أمريكا الشمالية باسم أفعى الذرة، ويقوم هذا الثعبان بالانقضاض على الفرائس الصغيرة وافتراسها.
يتراوح حجمه ما بين 1,2 ــ 1,8 متر ويبلغ معدل عمره الطبيعي الذي يعيشه يتراوح بين 15 ــ 20 سنة وقد يعيش إلى 23 سنة.
8- ثعبان ماريليا:

يوجد هذا الثعبان في استراليا وإندونيسيا وغينيا، ويقوم بعصر فريسته حتى الموت ثم أكلها.
9- ثعبان الألوان المدرع:

يوجد هذا النوع من الثعابين في جنوب الهند، ويمكن العثور عليه على ارتفاع 5000 قدم فوق الجبال.
10-الأفعى وحيدة القرن:

تتميز هذه الأفعى العجيبة تتميز الأفعي بوجود حراشيف تشبه القرون في مقدمة الأنف:

وهي أفعى سامة قوي البنية تعيش في وسط أفريقيا، ويتراوح طولها بين 72 سم إلى 107 سم.
11-الثعبان الهندسي:

سُميّ الثعبان الهندسي هكذا بسبب العلامات الهندسية الموجودة عليه، وهو ثعبان سام يمكن العثور عليه في إثيوبيا فقط. يبلغ طول الثعبان الذي في الصورة 75.2 سم.
12- ثعبان شجرة بيثون الأخضر:

يوجد هذا الثعبان في غينيا وإندونيسيا وموطنه الأصلي في استراليا.
يتوسط طول الكبير من 90 – 120 سم (4.3 قدم) وقد يصل طوله إلى 213 سم (7 قدم).
13- ثعبان شجرة بوا:

تم العثور على هذا الثعبان صاحب اللون البرتقالي الجميل كوستاريكا وبنما وشمال أمريكا الجنوبية وفنزويلا وعند الأمازون في البرازيل وكولومبيا وبيرو والإكوادور وبوليفيا.
14- أفعى المرجان:

ثعبان سام تم العثور عليه في جنوب شرق الولايات المتحدة، وينبغي عدم الخلط بينه وبين شبيهه غير السام الثعبان القرمزي (الثعبان الملك).
15- أفعى الرقبة السوداء:

يبلغ معدل طول هذا الثعبان من 16 – 20 بوصة وقد يصل إلى 43 بوصة، ويقوم بالدخول والإعتداء على المنازل.
16- أفعى تيريستريس:

تسبب لدغته أمراض عند البشر ولكن لدغته لا تعتبر خطرة ويقوم بإفراز رائحة كريهة عند مسكه او التعامل معه.
17- أفعى عين الطائر:

يوجد هذا الثعبان الجمبل المرقط بالأحمر في آسيا، وتم العثور عليه في الغابات الرطبة ويمكنه أن يتسلق الأشجار حتى إرتفاع 100 متر.
18- أفعى الذيل الأخضر:

يتناسب لون هذا الثعبان الأخضر مع البيئة التي يعيش فيها فوق الأشجار في جنوب شرق آسيا ويتغذى على الثديات الصغيرة، ويمكن أن يصل طوله إلى 2.3 متر ويبلغ متوسط عمره 15 عاماً.
19- الثعبان القرمزي (الثعبان الملك):

يتميز هذا الثعبان بالألوان الزاهية ويعيش في البراري والحقول وفوق أشجار الصنوبر، وقد تم العثور عليه في ولاية فلوريدا في الولايات المتحدة .
معدل طوله هو 20 بوصة وكان أقصى طول له هو 27 بوصة (68.5 سم) ويصل طول صغاره إلى 3 ونصف بوصة.
20- ثعبان المرجان الأزرق:

يمكن العثور على ثعبان المرجان الأزرق في إندونيسيا وماليزيا وسنغافورة وهو نوع فريد من الثعابين بلونه البرتقالي عند ذيله ورأسه.
