بوتين يمنع التدخين في أغلب المدن الروسية
وقع الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين قانونا يحظر التدخين في أغلب الأماكن العامة ويقيد مبيعات السجائر في ثاني أكبر سوق للتبغ في العالم بعد الصين.

وسيحظر القانون التدخين في بعض الأماكن العامة مثل قطارات الأنفاق والمدارس اعتبارا من أول يونيو، ويدخل حيز التنفيذ بعد عام في أماكن أخرى منها المطاعم والمقاهي.

كما سيحظر بيع منتجات التبغ في أكشاك الشوارع بداية من جانفي 2014 ويقيد الإعلان عنها ويضع حدا أدنى لأسعار السجائر التي تتراوح الآن بين 50 و60 روبلا للعلبة (أقل من دولارين).

ويأمل بوتين الذي بدأ فترة رئاسية جديدة مدتها ست سنوات في2012 ويروج لأنماط حياة صحية أن يساعد القانون في تقويض ثقافة التدخين المتجذرة في المجتمع ووقف تراجع سكان روسيا منذ انهيار الاتحاد السوفيتي.

وواجه القانون معارضة من شركات التبغ الأجنبية التي تهيمن على سوق للسجائر قدرت شركة يورومونيتور انترناشيونال وهي شركة لأبحاث السوق أن قيمته بلغت 22 مليار دولار في 2011.

وتشير أرقام البنك الدولي إلى أن عدد السكان الروس تراجع من148.6 مليون في 1991 وهو العام الذي انهار فيه الاتحاد السوفياتى 141.9 مليون في 2011.
