واشنطن تدرب مقاتلين من المعارضة السورية في قاعدة بالمنطقة
أكد مسؤولون بالإدارة الأمريكية أن الولايات المتحدة عززت بصورة كبيرة دعمها للمعارضة السورية، وذلك بالمساعدة في تدريب مقاتلين من المعارضة في "قاعدة بالمنطقة"، كما أنها عرضت للمرة الأولى تقديم مساعدة ومعدات "غير قاتلة" للجماعات المسلحة بما يساعدها في الحملة العسكرية الدائرة.

ونقلت صحيفة (نيويورك تايمز) أمس الخميس عن المسؤولين القول إن مهمة التدريب الجارية حاليا تمثل أعمق تدخل أمريكي في الصراع السوري، رغم أن حجم ونطاق المهمة لم يتضح، كما لم تتضح الدولة التي تستضيف التدريبات.

وتوقعت الصحيفة أن يعرض وزير الخارجية الأمريكي جون كيري تقديم "المساعدة غير القاتلة" خلال اجتماعه الخميس في روما مع قادة المعارضة.

وبحسب التعريف الواسع لـ"المساعدة غير القاتلة" فإنها قد تشمل عتادا مثل المركبات ومعدات الإتصال وأجهزة الرؤية الليلية. وتؤكد إدارة الرئيس باراك أوباما أنها لم تقدم أسلحة إلى المعارضة، على الأقل حتى الآن.

وذكرت الصحيفة أن من أكبر أهداف الإدارة هو دعم المعارضة على ترسيخ مصداقيتها داخل سوريا من خلال تقديم الخدمات التقليدية التي تقدمها أي حكومة للسكان المدنيين.

وأضافت الصحيفة أن الولايات المتحدة تتطلع إلى تحجيم قوة الجماعات المتطرفة عن طريق مساعدة ائتلاف المعارضة السورية الذي تدعمه وأسهمت في تنظيمه، على القيام بالخدمات الأساسية في المناطق التي إنتزع السيطرة عليها من حكومة بشار الأسد.

وأوضحت أن من أهم الأهداف أيضا هو المساعدة في إطلاق مفاوضات حول الإنتقال السياسي للسلطة عن طريق بعث رسالة للأسد بأن الثوار هم الذين ستكون لهم الغلبة في النهاية على أرض الواقع.

ووافق الإتحاد الأوروبي مؤخرا على اقتراح بريطاني بإمكانية إرسال معدات غير قاتلة إلى المعارضة السورية، وتعكف بريطانيا وأعضاء آخرون حاليا على بحث ما هي تحديدا نوعية المعدات التي يمكن السماح بإرسالها بناء على القرار الأوروبي.
