مشروع قرار يعاقب الأولياء على التدخين أمام أطفالهم في لاتفيا
أيدت لجنة الدفاع عن حقوق الانسان في برلمان لاتفيا مقترحاً تقدم به مجمع الأطباء، يقضي بفرض عقوبات على أولياء الأمور الذين يدخنون في وجود أطفالهم. ويقترح الأطباء اللاتفيون المساواة في تقييم التدخين أمام الأطفال بممارسة العنف معهم، وسن قوانين يتم بموجبها محاسبة أولياء الأمور على هذا الفعل جنائياً. ووفقاً لتصريح سكرتير ووزارة الصحة في البرلمان لينيه تسيبوليه فإن هذا الإجراء مهم في إطار جهود الأطباء لإجبار أولياء الأمور الذين يدخنون أمام أطفالهم باستمرار، انطلاقاً من ان التدخين السلبي يسبب الضرر على صحة الأطفال ويؤثر على نموهم بشكل طبيعي. وجاء هذا التصريح أثناء طرح هذا الملف على طاولة لجنة الدفاع عن حقوق الانسان للنقاش. هذا وقد حولت اللجنة مشروع القرار الى القراءة الثانية في البرلمان. ويتم اعتماده بعد أن يحظى بتأييد في ثلاث قراءات، ومن ثم يتم رفعه الى رئيس البلاد للمصادقة عليه.
