بهدف التعرُّف على مفهوم التوثيق والفهرسة وعلاقته بالإدارة المكتبية، والتعرُّف على منظومة التوثيق الحديثة وتبيان دورها فى حفظ وتخزين البيانات والوثائق، وأيضاً التعرُّف على تكنولوجيا أنظمة المعلومات والإتصالات نحو بناء الإدارة الإلكترونية، وكذا تبيان طبيعة العلاقة بين قواعد البيانات ونظم إختزان وإسترجاع مواد المعلومات من خلال المعالجة الإلكترونية، وإستعراض مزايا إستخدام التقنيات الحديثة فى إدارة مواد المعلومات والإتصـالات؛ كان انعقاد هذه الفعالية والتي تعرض من خلال إطارها العام إلى: التوثيق والفهرسة والبيانات والمعلومات وما هو مفهوم التوثيق والفهرسة وعلاقته بالإدارة المكتبية، أهمية البيانات ونظم المعلومات فى العمل المكتبى، وأيضاً: مهارات الفهرسة وما هو مفهوم الفهرسة والفرق بين الفهرس والفهرسة ، كيفية إنشاء فهرس للمنظمة، فهرس السجل وفهرس البطاقات للموضوعات والأسماء؛ كما تعرض إلى منظومة التوثيق الحديثة فى حفظ وتخزين البيانات والوثائق وما هي متطلبات بناء منظومة التوثيق والمعلومات، أساليب الحفظ للملفات والوثائق، أهم مواد المعلومات الواجب الحفاظ عليها فى المنظمات والهيئات، أهم الشروط الواجب توافرها فى نظام الحفظ والإسترجاع لمواد المعلومات، الأسس التى يجب أن يقوم عليها تخطيط وتنظيم الحفظ، معايير نجاح إدارة المحفوظات أو الأرشيف أو مركز المعلومات أو إدارة المعرفة، القواعد التى تحكم العمليات الفنية للحفظ والتداول والإسترجاع والإضافة لمواد المعلومات، مراحل الإعداد وخطط التنفيذ لبناء وحدة التوثيق أو المعلومات.
مستهدفين في ذلك: مديرو العموم ورؤساء الأقسام وكافة العاملين بادارات المكاتب العليا والقادة والمديرين والسكرتارية والسكرتارية التنفيذية والعاملين بادارات المحفوظات والسجلات والارشيف والمكتبات وكل ذي صلة بالوزارات والهيئات والمؤسسات والمصالح والمجالس.
