مقتل جندي بريطاني بأحد شوارع لندن
قتل جندي بريطاني وأصيب آخران في هجوم وصفته الحكومة البريطانية بأنه "عمل إرهابي نفذه إسلاميون متشددون"، حيث قام المنفذون المسلحون بالسكاكين فقط بقطع رأس الجندي بعد قتله في أحد شوارع جنوب شرق العاصمة لندن.

وأكدت وزيرة الداخلية البريطانية تيريزا ماي وقوع الهجوم مساء أمس الأربعاء وقالت إنه "عمل إرهابي"، واصفة إياه بأنه "هجوم بربري ومقزز".

وأشارت ماي إلى أن عناصر الشرطة البريطانية لاحقت المنفذين وأطلقت النار باتجاههم، حيث تم إصابة إثنين فقط برصاص الشرطة، إلا أن إحتمالات أن يكون هناك شركاء آخرين لهم في الهجوم أمر وارد.

وعلق رئيس الوزراء البريطاني ديفيد كاميرون على الحادث، من باريس، قائلاً: "هناك إشارات قوية على أن الحادث يمكن أن يكون عملاً إرهابياً".

وأعلن مكتب رئيس الحكومة البريطانية في "تن داوننج ستريت" أن رئيس الوزراء سيقطع زيارته إلى فرنسا ويعود فوراً إلى لندن لمتابعة التطورات، بعد أن كان يفترض أن يمضي ليلته في باريس بعد أن أنهى مهمة عمل هناك.

ونقلت وسائل الإعلام المحلية في لندن عن شاهد عيان في منطقة "ولويش" اسمه "فريد أويات"، رأى الحادث من نافذة منزله، قوله إنه شاهد شخصين لهما ملامح شرق أوسطية يسيران في الشارع بطريقة تثير الاستغراب، ومن ثم تبين أن بحوزتهما سكاكين قاموا بتنفيذ الهجوم بواسطتها، ومن ثم قامت الشرطة بإطلاق النار باتجاههم.

ويأتي الهجوم الذي استهدف جندياً بريطانياً في أحد شوارع لندن في الوقت الذي تشهد فيه البلاد جدلاً واسعاً بشأن المهام التي يقوم بها الجيش البريطاني في أفغانستان، كما أنه يأتي بعد أسابيع من إكتشاف خلية مسلحة تضم عدداً من الإسلاميين المتشددين قالت أجهزة الأمن البريطانية إنها كانت تستهدف مواقع عسكرية ومسؤولين في الجيش البريطاني.

كما يأتي الهجوم في نفس اليوم الذي أصدرت فيه الحكومة البريطانية موافقتها على إصدار 600 تأشيرة لمترجمين أفغان سبق أن عملوا مع الجيش البريطاني داخل أفغانستان، ويقولون إن بقاءهم هناك بعد انسحاب الجيش البريطاني سيعني أن حياتهم مهددة.
