كان طويس يقول


يا أهل المدينةِ توقعوا خروجَ الدجالِ ما دمتُ فيكم

وًلِدتُ في الليلةِ التي مات فيها رسولُ اللهِ صلى اللهِ عليه وسلم

وفُطِمتُ في الليلةِ التي مات فيها أبو بكر رضي الله عنه

وبلغتُ الحلم في الليلة التي قُتِلَ فيها عمر رضي الله عنه

وتزوجتُ في اليوم الذي قُتل فيه عثمان رضي الله عنه

ووُلِدَ لي ولدٌ في اليوم الذي قُتِل فيه علي كرّم الله وجهه
