Present Simple Tense

subject + auxiliary verb + verb
do base
Look at these examples with the verb drink
subject............. auxiliary verb ...... verb b
I, you, we, they.......... drink water.
He, she, it.......... drinks water.
- I, you, we, they......... do not drink water.
He, she, it.......... does not drink water.
? Do.... I, you, we, they.... drink water
?Does he, she, it......... drink water

Look at these examples with the verb be. Notice that there is no auxiliary
subject main verb
+ I............. am Algerian.
You, we, they... are Algerian.
He, she, it....... is Algerian.

- I am not tall
You, we, they are not tall
He, she, it is not tall

? Am... I busy
Are... you, we, they........busy? busy
? Is..... he, she, it busy

. Present continuous
present continuous= the present tense of the verb to be + the present participle of the main verb.
Affirmative
Subject + to be + base+ing
she is playing

Interrogative
to be + subject + base+ing

Present Perfect
The present perfect of any verb = auxiliary verb to have (present tense)+ the past participle of the main verb.

Affirmative
Subject to have past participle
She has played
Negative
Subject to have + not past participle
She hasn't played
Interrogative
to have subject past participle
?Has she played
Interrogative negative
to have + not subject past participle
?Hasn't she played
