The human body The human body consists of the head, the trunk, and the four limbs. We see with our eyes, smell with our nose, hear with our ears, taste with our tongue and palate, feel with our skin, and speak with our tongue with the help of our throat and palate. People who can't see are blind. Some people are short-sighted or long- sighted. People who cannot hear are deaf. People who cannot speak are dumb. The main organs are the heart, which sends the blood throughout the body, the lungs with which we breathe the stomach, liver intestines, etc… all of which are necessary to digest food. The limbs are worked by muscles and ligaments. The upper limbs are the arms, the lower limbs the legs. A man or a woman may be strong or weak, healthy-looking or sickly-looking. They may be tall or short, fat or slim, squat, thickset, bulky. They may be good-looking, plain or even ugly. But we are taught not to judge them by their physical appearance |
