Hansel and Gretel
A poor woodcutter living near a forest had very little to feed his wife and two children.
the boy was hansel and the girl was Gretel . their stepmother thought they ate too much.
عاش حطاب فقير قرب الغابة ، ولم يكن يملك الا القليل لكي يطعم زوجتة وطفلية . كان الطفل يدعى هانزل والطفلة تدعى جريتل ، وكانت زرجة ابيهم تعتقد انهما يأكلان كثيراً .
One morning, when their food almost gone, the stepmother shook them awake very early.
she took them very far into the forest and told them to search for firewood . she had a plan .
وفي صبيحة احد الايام ، وعندما بدأ الطعام بالنفاذ , أيقضتهما زوجة أبيهم من النوم باكراً جداً ، أخذتهما بعيداً داخل الغابة و طلبت منهما أن يبحثا عن حطب للموقد . كانت تدبر خطة ما .
'' I will come back later to lead you home " she lied. she left some bread for them . the children worked hard gathering armloads of firewood . then they rested and ate their bread.
كذبت عليهما وقالت لهما : سوف أعود لاحقاً لكي ادلكما على طريق العودة ، وتركت بعض الخبز لهما . عمل الطفلان بجد وهما يجمعان قطع الحطب ، ثم ارتاحا قليلاً وأكلا الخبز .
After waiting along time , they fecll asleep. when they woke up , it was dark . Gretel was frightened . Hansel said , " Dont cry . I dropped a trail of pebbles on the way here " .
بعد إنتظار طويل ، ناما وعندما استيقضا كان الظلام قد حل . كانت جريتل خائفة ، قال هانزل : لا تخافي لقد اسقطت قطعاً من الحصى على طول الطريق إلى هنا .
they folloed the shiny pebbles and found their way home . their stepmother was not apleased . the next day they went furtherinto the woods Hansel dropped breadcrumbs along thy way
تبع الأولاد قطع الحصى اللامعة ، ووجدوا الطريق إلى منزلهم ولم تكن زوجة الأب مسرورة لذلك . وفي اليوم التالي ذهبوا إلى مكان ابعد في الغابة . كان هانزل يسقط قطعا صغيرة من الخبز على طول الطريق .
but when Hansel & Gretel looked for them they were gone! the birds had eaten them up !After wandering for hours , the exhausted children slept under a tree untel mrovning .
ولكن عندما بحث هانزل و جريتل عن قطع الخبز الصغيرة ، كانت قد اختفت لقد اكلتها العصافير !! بعد أن تجولا لساعات ، نام الطفلان المتعبان تحت شجرة حتى الصباح .
they walked untel they found a house made out of cakes ! '' oh, what a wonderful treat this will be !" cried Hansel , clapping his hands eagerly , " lets eat!"
ثم مشيا حتى وجدا منزلاً مصنوعاً من الكعك ، صاح هانزل : وهو يصفق بفرح ياه! كم ستكون مكافأةً رائعة ، هيا نأكل .
I`ll start with the window she said and you can taste the roof It`s made of gingerbread " suddenly a quiet voice called from inside the house, ''who`s that nibbling at my house

ثم مشيا حتى وجدا منزلاً مصنوعاً من الكعك ، صاح هانزل : وهو يصفق بفرح ياه! كم ستكون مكافأةً رائعة ، هيا نأكل .

قالت جريتل : سوف أبداً بالنافذة ، وبأمكانك أنت أن تتذوق السقف ، إنه مصنوع من خبز الزنجبيل وفجأة سمعا صوتاً خافتاً من داخل المنزل : من الذي يقضم من منزلي ؟!...
the children stopped eating as a very ugly old woman hobbled out . the children gasped and trembled with fear , but the old woman just smiled sweeatly at them.
.توقف الطفلان عن الأكل بينما خرجت عجوز بشعة المنظر إلى الخارج . ارتعد الصغران من الخوف ، ولكن المرأة العجوز ابتسمت بلطف فقط
"you poor dears," she said .com inside to eat some dinner . " they followed her into the house . but she was a wicked witch who used her house of sweets to catch children-to eat !
قالت العجوز : ايها المسكينان ، ادخلا لكي تتناولا العشاء ، تبعاها الطفلان إلى داخل المنزل . ولكنها كانت ساحرة خبيثة تستعمل منزلها المصنوع من الحلوى لكي تمسك بالأطفال.
the witch loced up Hansel all alone in a little room Gretel cried for her brother. the wicked witch told Gretel, " enough! we must fatten up your skinny brother before I eat him ! " .
حبست الساحرة الشريرة هانزل لوحده في غرفة صغيرة . بكت جريتل كثيراً من أجل أخيها . قالت الساحرة الخبيثة لجريتل : يكفي ، يجب أن نجعل أخيك يسمن قبل أن أكلة
each morning the witch said to Hansel , stick out your finger for me to fell ! " . Hansel knew she didn`t see well , so he cleverly stuck out a littel bone instead . He was too thin .
أصبحت الساحرة كل صباح تقول لهانزل : مد لي اصبعك لكي اتحسسة ، كان هانزل يعرف ان الساحرة لم تكن ترى جيداً لذلك كان يمد لها عظمة صغيرة بدلاً من إصبعة ، فكانت الساحرة تظن انة ما زال نحيلاً
days passed and the witch grew tired of waiting . she told Gretel to prepare the oven for baking . the witch said " fell inside and see if it is hot enough yet " " but ....how?" Gretel asked .
مرت الايام وتعبت الساحرة من الانتظار ، لذا طلبت من جريتل أن تحظر لها الفرن للطهي .قالت الساحرة اجريتل : تحسسي داخل الفرن لتري إن كان ساخناً كفاية . قالت جريتل : ولكن كيف افعل ذلك؟
" watch !" the witch said , sticking he own head into the oven . Gretel quickly shoved he inside! she ran to free hansel .they took the witch`s treasure and set off her home .
قالت الساحرة انظري ، ومدت رأسها إلى داخل الفرن فدفعتها جريتل بسرعة لداخل الفرن . ثم ركضت بسرعة لتحرر أخاها وأخذوا كنز الساحرة وأتجهوا نحو البيت
On the way ,they met their father . he had been searching for them since their stepmother died . the children gave him the witch`s treasure and they were never poor-or hungry- again .
وعلى الطريق قابلا والدهما وكان يبحث عنهما منذ ان ماتت زوجته اللئيمة ثم أعطى الطفلان كنز الساحرة لأبيهما . ولم يعودوا فقراء أو جائعيين بعد ذلك اليوم ابداً
