في عام 2001 قامت مؤسسة Discovery بتأسيس موقع على الإنترنت لينشر فيه العلماء المعارضون للداروينية آراءهم www.dissentfromdarwin.org وخلال خمس سنوات وضع قرابة 700 عالم من كبار علماء البيولوجيا آراءهم المعارضة ولا شك أن مئات العلماء سينضمون للقائمة إذا ضمنوا سلامة مستقبلهم العلمي الذي يتهدده الدراونة .. كما حدث في فيلم المطرودون الذي يروي قصص مأساوية لعلماء غربيون تم طردهم من الجامعات الغربية لمجرد التشكيك في الداروينية

الآن سؤالي لماذا يتراجع العلماء عن الداروينية .. لماذا تتم الآن إزاحتهـا جانبـا وتُدرس بدلا عنهـا نظرية التصميم الذكي في 3 ولايـات بأمريكا ( أوهايو - كنساس - جورجيـا ) ... يقول Jonathan Wells وهو عالم بيولوجيـا أمريكي أنهى الدّراسات العليا و الدكتوراه في جامعتي يال وكاليفورنيا يقول :- (إن الاكتشافات العلمية الجديدة جاءت لتقضي على هذا الأمل تماماً. وربما أنكم لم تقرأوا عن هذا في الكتب الدراسية، إلا أن الحقيقة هي أن شجرة التطور الخاصة بداروين أصبحت بالفعل في وضع المنهار ) وقام هذا العالم البيولوجي بوضع كتاب أيقونات التّطور: علم أم خرافة Icons Of Evolution: Science Or Myth
يتحدث ويللز في كتابه هذا في ص 225 ملخصاً الوضع على النحو التالي:"من النّادر للغاية أن يتم اطلاع المجتمع كله بما يقوم به العلماء المتخصصون من تفسيرات علمية تتعلق بالإبهام و الغموض العميقين بخصوص أصل الانسان. و بديلا عن ذلك نتلقى مجرد خبر عن آخر نظرية لهذا الشخص أو ذاك و لا ينقلون لنا الحقيقة التي لم يستطيعوا هم ايضاً فهمها بخصوص هذا الموضوع. فيتم الترويج للنظرية و تزيينها بشكل دقيق و بالاستعانة ببعض الرسوم و الصور المتخيلة لإنسان الكهف أو لجد الانسان " بوضع كثير من الماكياج عليها "... و الواضح أن احداً من قبل لم ينسج خيالاً واسعا إلى هذا الحد بخصوص جزئية بسيطة إلى هذا القدر في أى فرع من فروع العلم المختلفة".
أمـا عن قائمة العلمـاء الذين لا يقبلون بالداروينية ولا يحترمونهـا فهؤلاء عددهم أكثر من أن يُحصى !!!
